I am writing this when the temperature here on our beach is 36 degrees and the winds have topped out at 42mph! I hope that it has warmed up a bit by the time you are reading this in February! If not, bundle up, light a fire, get a good book, and enjoy!
Due to the increase in Covid cases in the Outer Banks, the WADWCC board has decided to continue our Zoom meetings for at least one more month. As a result, our meeting on February 3rd will again be virtual. We will have women members from the USCG Station Oregon Inlet share stories about the rescue service and its work to keep on those on the water safe. We encourage you to invite your spouses and friends to attend this very timely presentation with you. I will also send out the recording of the meeting so those of you who are away during the winter month can enjoy the meeting at your leisure. I hope to see all of you around the club or on a warmer day, around the fire pit!

Program – JoAnn Small & Ginger Webster
In January, Meg Puckett, Herd Manager for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, presented an interesting and informative program about the unique Banker horses of Corolla. We learned about results from DNA testing, some of the challenges the Herd currently faces, and work underway by this organization to responsibly manage the Herd and promote the continued preservation of their habitat on the northern Outer Banks. We also learned about ways that we can support these efforts. For more information, visit www.corollawildhorses.com or email email@example.com.
